First, you’ll head to a canyon about 20 minutes outside of La Fortuna. Waterfalls gush down the side of the canyon and provide an exhilarating backdrop for rappelling. After the descent, you can conquer the canyon’s rock-climbing wall. Your guide can also bring you to an area called the Monkey Drop, where visitors can go on a zip-line ride through the jungle landscape. You don’t need any experience for these activities.

After your break for lunch, you’ll take a 15-minute trip to Rainforest Chocolate, for the second part of your tour. Chocolate has a long history, and its preparation has changed significantly over the centuries. Historians believe that people from Central and South America were the first to consume chocolate.

On your chocolate tour, you’ll learn how to harvest, dry, and grind cocoa. Then, you’ll make a traditional chocolate drink. Before you leave, you’ll get to sample some of the organic chocolate they make at Rainforest Chocolate. Consider it a sweet goodbye from the Costa Rican jungle.
