The ranch has an amazing collection of exotic birds. Besides toucans, you can visit with parrots, macaws, and owls. And say hello to the hawk named Prince! Toucan Rescue Ranch is also home to two-toed and three-toed sloths, kinkajous, a spider monkey, rainforest porcupines, and otters.
Knowledgeable guides can answer your questions about the animals and how they came to live at the rescue center. Tours like these help support the ranch’s important mission to save endangered animals.

Excellent guide and animals of interest
This was the first thing we did when we arrived in Costa Rica! We are so glad that we did. It was awesome!! We even spent the first night in the San Jose area so we could do this. That worked out well rather than having to get in a van for a 3+ hour trip to Arenal after spending all day flying. The Rescue is very well done. It is on private property and you learn how it all got started. There are a large variety of animals some can be rehabilitated and released back to nature and some cannot. They rely on private funding.
