Tortuga Island Tour

Your day begins with a pickup in one of the popular coastal towns in the Nicoya Peninsula. The tour begins with a 45-minute boat ride, during which you’ll get to observe dolphins, manta rays, and sea turtles swimming near your boat. Humpback whales and pilot whales have even been known to frequent the area, so keep your eyes peeled.

Eventually, your guide will drop anchor near the shores of Tortuga Island and gear up for either snorkeling. The nearby volcanic reef that attracts an eye-catching assortment of marine wildlife. You can expect to see angelfish, porcupine fish, morays, needlefish, and spotted eagle rays, to name just a few.

Afterward, you’ll head to the beach where your guides will prepare lunch. You can lounge on the white-sand beach with a drink and a snack of fruit. For lunch, you’ll have the choice of grilled fish or chicken, sautéed vegetables, grilled potatoes, and bread.

Once you’ve had your fill, it’s up to you what to do with the rest of your afternoon. If you want to scuba dive, you’ll arrange that with a scuba diving club on Tortuga Island. Keep in mind that the schedule only allows time for one dive. Otherwise, you can opt for a swim in the gorgeous water, or a hike to one of the incredible inland vistas. To see more of the ocean, take out one of the kayaks or banana boats.
