The Sarapiqui River runs through a variety of environments - tropical wet forest, mountains, pastures, and more. The river is popular with rafters, who come to ride its rapids, but it also has calmer sections that are perfect for leisurely, safari-style floats. This tour is a relaxed boat trip aimed at exploring the river's vibrant ecosystem.

As your boat cruises down the river, be on the lookout for wildlife in the water and on the land. You may be able to see monkeys, iguanas, sloths, crocodiles, alligators, otters, and a variety of bird species. Your guides will help you spot animals and explain the ecological significance of the surrounding area.

This tour lasts two hours and takes place on a comfortable, modern boat. The boat has a special motor that is designed to minimize impact on the environment.

Attraction Visited

Sarapiqui River

Originating from clear mountain streams, the Sarapiqui River runs from the Central Mountain Range just north of San Jose to the San Marcos River which runs along the shared border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The river is considered a national monument because of the vital service it provided in transporting arms, goods and soldiers in the 1856 war against the filibusters.

I am very happy with this. I did not expect a taxi. But it worked out fine. The safari guide was great and we saw many birds and animals
