At the outset of the tour you’ll travel 2 to 10 miles (3.2 to 16 km) from the coast and keep an eye out for dolphins. Local species include spotted dolphins, Central American spinner dolphins, and bottlenose dolphins. For most of the year you also have the chance to see humpback whales.
Next you’ll drop anchor at Isla Chora. This lovely island has white sand beaches with hermit crabs and iguanas. Visitors find this area an idyllic setting for swimming and snorkeling. You’ll be given snorkel equipment so you can explore colorful underwater wildlife.

Wow - it was so amazing to be so close to the dolphins. Was very safe and an incredible experience. We didn't see too much on the snorkeling part, but it was still fun swimming in the ocean.

We were greeted warmly and professionally by Luis, boat captain Jorge (I think) and guide Brian. The trip was informative and THRILLING. A highlight of our trip. We saw at least 2 humpback whales, 2 types of dolphins frolicking about the boat and several Olive Ridley turtles at sea. Brian knows much about the wildlife and filled us in on some of the history of the area. It wasn't a good day for snorkeling (or maybe not a prime place), but fun to get in the water to see a few puffer fish and other small fish. Brian was super! He has good energy and built camaraderie among the guests.
