Cano Island Snorkeling

The marine life of Caño Island is rich and varied but what makes it special is its accessibility. Both tours leave from the nearby Playa Uvita. The half day tour takes a quick 15-minute boat ride to the Marino Ballena National Park. Here the number of species is astounding. You will be hard pressed to find the same fish twice. You might even cross paths with whales, dolphins or sea turtles. You are free the spend the whole four hours in the water or take breaks on the boat to nap or enjoy the rugged scenery.

The full day tour also leaves from Playa Uvita but takes an hour and half boat ride to the Caño Island Biological reserve. This is world class snorkeling and diving. The shallow depths combined with clear water give guests an unimpeded view of the ocean life below. You will be able to see the intense colors and underwater action up close and personal. Between snorkel sessions you can relax on the beach, hike to a lookout point or play a pick-up game of beach volleyball. You will return around 3:00 pm.

Caño Island is a protected marine reserve so number of persons allowed in the the water is limited. You should book as soon as possible to reserve you spot.
